The African American Automotive Association & Foxxtecca Hires Pamela Brown-Matthis as VP of Education and Strategic Partnerships

Jamal Warrick

March 24, 2025 – The African American Automotive Association (AAAA) and Foxxtecca have made a game-changing move by appointing Pamela Brown-Matthis as the Vice President of Education and Strategic Partnerships. This landmark hire marks a pivotal moment in the automotive industry as AAAA continues to break barriers, drive diversity, and expand its transformative educational initiatives on a global scale.

Pamela Brown-Matthis, formerly the Director of Education at SEMA, brings over 30 years of experience in education and program development. She has an extensive background in creating educational programming for numerous professional organizations and individuals, demonstrating a deep commitment to workforce development and lifelong learning. She is also the co-founder of the Educational Presenters Network (EPN), where she developed and designed workshops, professional development events, and on-site conferences to address the evolving needs of learning organizations. Through EPN, she provided strategic planning, facilitation, coaching, and training for educators, administrators, and corporate leaders, ensuring impactful and effective professional development. Her expertise in community collaboration and integration has been a cornerstone of her career, aligning learning initiatives with community engagement for maximum impact.

Chris Harris, Founder of AAAA & Co-Founder of Foxxtecca, expressed his enthusiasm for welcoming Pamela into this critical role:

"Pamela Brown-Matthis is a distinguished leader in the education sector, and her official appointment to the AAAA/Foxxtecca team marks a significant milestone for our organization. Her expertise, leadership, and unwavering commitment to making education inclusive and accessible will be instrumental in elevating our curriculum to new heights. Having already made history together at the SEMA Show, we are eager to build on that success by expanding our programming, increasing industry awareness, and creating pathways for all individuals to access opportunities in the mobility sector."

Her track record speaks for itself—during her time at SEMA, she played an instrumental role in shaping the organization's first-ever Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programming at the 2023 SEMA Show. This historic moment—co-created with AAAA founder Chris Harris—marked the first time in SEMA’s 67-year history that DEI was actively integrated into the event.

Brown-Matthis was initially announced as an AAAA board member in July 2024, and now, she has officially stepped into a full-time leadership role with the organization. In her new position, she will spearhead the growth and global expansion of the AAAA’s education programs, forge strategic partnerships, and drive membership growth through innovative programming.

"I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead AAAA’s educational efforts in expanding access, fostering innovation, and driving meaningful impact in the mobility sector. Education has always been the key to unlocking opportunities, and throughout my career, I have been committed to developing programs that empower individuals to grow, lead, and succeed. This role allows me to merge my passion for learning and development with strategic partnerships to create sustainable pathways for underrepresented communities. Together, we will break barriers, build pipelines, and shape a more inclusive future for the automotive and motorsports industries—one where talent, innovation, and opportunity know no limits." - Pamela Brown-Matthis
